I was on the road near the ocean kayaking as i have done dozens of times, I have seen and knew where the high tide comes up and kept the car away from the ocean tide. when my son and I got back at dusk the car was underwater. almost to the seat tops. luckily the car started and I backed out of it and brought my son home. he was cry and i went to the car ways and rinsed it all off but the next day and today its horrible. sounds like i need a new front end. its a 96 Chrysler lhs. front wheel drive. has this happened to you or do you know what i can spray the car with to fight salt corrosion? tips please and thank you in advance

It is junk. If it got to the tops of the seats you are going to have nothing but problems with the electrical system once the contacts in the harness plugs start to corrode. You could hose it off, put metal primer on the undercarriage, then put undercoating on it. You could unplug all of the harness plugs, spray electrical contact Cleaner and solvent on them then put dow corning 111 non-hardening silicone on them and plug them back in. But I’m afraid it would be a lot of wasted effort. Even if you solved 8 out of 10 of the potential problems you are going to have, it is the two you miss that are going to leave you on the side of the road.
